Former Student Weslyn Stephens Featured on RCI 101.1 FM's She Speaks

We are thrilled to celebrate the continued success of former student Weslyn Stephens, who was recently featured on RCI 101.1 FM's She Speaks to discuss her work as an educator, choreographer, and founder of the WesStep Dance & Heritage Training Program.

Weslyn began her dance journey in Saint Lucia before continuing her training at the Dance Theatre of Harlem School in New York City. She later earned a Bachelor's degree in Dance and Anthropology from Rutgers University and completed graduate studies in Arts Politics at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Today, she is an accomplished dance educator and choreographer whose work blends classical ballet with Afro-Caribbean traditions, creating meaningful artistic experiences that celebrate culture, identity, and community.

During her interview, Weslyn shared the inspiration behind launching the inaugural WesStep Summer Dance & Heritage Training Program, a two-week intensive that will provide young dancers with high-quality technical training while honoring Caribbean heritage.

The program also welcomes Paige Fraser-Hoffman, Broadway cast member of Disney's The Lion King, as a guest faculty artist.
